Brickyard Civic Virtue Discussion in Silver Spring

Silver Branch Brewery

RSVP

Join us at the incredible Silver Branch Brewery (our first event in Silver Spring!) for the latest in our Civic Virtue series.

How often do you have the opportunity to have a civil conversation on a meaningful subject with someone you don’t know?

For most of us, the answer is not very often, if ever.  Which is a shame because this kind of connection is critical to “we the people” building a better community.  Finding ways to engage across differences is a civic virtue – an action that strengthens our society but is optional (and so, often ignored).

At these events, we use a structured approach so everyone feels welcome even when we address serious issues.  We don’t set up debates and we aren’t looking for consensus.  We want people to share their opinions and listen to where others are coming from.

As an added incentive, we cover food and drink.  So come join The Brickyard and make sure to spread the word to friends, family, neighbors, and colleagues.

About the DMV, Washington Chapter

Washington, D.C. has always been a place of compromise. Born as the beating heart of American democracy, D.C. has long been a symbol of what we can achieve when we come together, and what can go wrong when division takes the place of connectedness in our communities.

The D.C. Brickyard is led by Ben Bain and Ryan Smither.
