Folks with a track record of showing up for others, whether that’s through military service, local government, coaching a little league team, organizing at a place of worship, or leading in their workplace or neighborhood.
Some of our strongest Brickyard Leaders are veterans who’ve brought the discipline and trust-building instincts of service into civilian life. Others have never worn a uniform, but they’ve spent years doing the same work in different clothes — PTA presidents, volunteer firefighters, small business owners, and everyday Americans who know every name on their block.

You won't simply volunteer — you'll build
As a Brickyard Leader, you’ll bring people together through meaningful social events, hands-on community service, and civic engagement that strengthens trust and inspires action where you live. In return, you’ll get:

Frequently Asked Questions
- Do I need to be a veteran to start a chapter?
No. Many of our strongest leaders have never served in uniform. We look for people with a track record of bringing neighbors together, whatever form that has taken.
- What's expected of me once I'm approved?
First, The Brickyard HQ team will provide you with the training and resources that you need to be a successful Brickyard leader. Once you’ve officially joined us as a Brickyard Captain, you’ll lead events, build relationships across differences in your community, and represent The Brickyard locally — with continuing support, resources, and a national network of fellow leaders behind you.
- How long does the process take?
Most applicants hear back within a few weeks. The full process, from application to onboarding, usually takes one to two months.
- Is there a cost to start a chapter?
No. Chapters receive a budget and resources from The Brickyard to run real events in their community.
- What support will I get as a leader?
Training, an onboarding program, a chapter budget, and direct access to The Brickyard HQ team and a national network of fellow leaders.
