Marla Godette is a South Bend Brickyard Leader at The Brickyard. She is a nationally recognized human services leader, program strategist, and community advocate with more than two decades of experience developing initiatives that strengthen individuals, families, and communities. She is the Founder and CEO of Mentoring Moments, LLC, a consulting firm specializing in mental health–informed mentorship, leadership development, and systems-level program design. Marla has created innovative models such as Clinical Mentorship and the Heart Over Height Wholistic Mentoring Program, which integrate emotional wellness, academic support, and life-purpose development to improve long-term outcomes for youth and adults. Her work has been implemented across schools, residential programs, and community organizations, and she is widely respected for her ability to bring together diverse stakeholders across cultural, socioeconomic, and institutional lines to create sustainable, transformative change. Marla is deeply committed to advancing unity, civic engagement, and equitable opportunity. She has served in leadership and advisory roles with nonprofit organizations, municipal partners, and national networks, and has mentored emerging leaders locally and globally. Her contributions have earned her honors including the YWCA Sojourner Truth Woman of the Year recognition for her leadership and impact. As the South Bend Site Leader for Brickyard, formerly A More Perfect Union, Marla brings a visionary yet practical approach to fostering meaningful dialogue, strengthening community relationships, and empowering citizens to actively participate in building a more just, connected, and thriving society.
