Grab your gardening gloves and join the Miami Brickyard for a morning of service with our community partner, Health in the Hood.
Health in the Hood works to make healthy food more accessible in underserved communities through urban gardens that provide fresh produce and educational programming. Their Opa-locka garden depends on volunteers to keep it productive, beautiful, and welcoming.
On September 30, we’re calling on the Miami Brickyard to show up together.
Volunteers will help with planting, weeding, composting, harvesting, laying soil, and general garden upkeep. No gardening experience is necessary. Just come ready to work and get your hands a little dirty.
This service day also contributes to The Brickyard’s nationwide commitment to 2,500 hours of community service in honor of America 250. Every person who joins us helps put more Miami hours on the board.
What to Bring
Wear closed-toe shoes and clothes that can get dirty, and bring water and sunscreen. Health in the Hood will provide direction once we arrive.
Come ready to serve alongside your fellow Brickyard members and support a community resource that’s putting fresh food directly into the hands of local families.
Good neighbors. Radical servants. Let’s get to work.
